These two are peas in a pod. They are the type of couple that dances to the beat of their own drum. With a love of family, friendship, nature, farming, and good food, this union was a perfect match. I personally loved everything about Nicole and Lucas’s backyard rustic farm wedding. I love when my couples plan the wedding of their dreams. Whether it be lavish or a simple ceremony, the focus is on what makes them happy. That’s exactly what they did. I fell completely in love with their wedding day. Although I’m a city girl, I am southern and county at heart. The quite open space, dirt roads, and sounds of nature is truly calming to me (despite the bugs).
It was a beautiful June wedding. The day stated with a trip to The Spa on West Main Street in Westminster, MD. for hair, make-up and a bit of wine. Now that sound’s like my kind of morning. The personal touches of their ceremony were soft and fit so well with their wedding vision. During the ceremony there were tears of joy, laughter, and even comedy. A bit of dialogue was added from Rob Reiner’s 1987 classic film “The Princess Bride.” I felt it suited them well as they are a fun and playful couple. It was a family centered, beautifully simple wedding, filled with summer blooms; mismatched bridesmaid’s dresses, casual groomsmen, and groom-gal. There was hearty food truck delectable goodies from Farm to Charm and The Green Bowl, sweet treats, live music, pool play and some special guest…..chickens.
This was truly a day filled with love and laughter. Nicole and Lucas’s love shined so bright and touched every heart that day. They are the perfect pair and I wish them joy, fun times, and mostly a lifetime of love. It was a true honor to capture the essence of who they are and tell their story.
Here’s to Mr. & Mrs. Bowmen.
