Today I'm sharing 5 great ways to show your personality in your branding photos for creative entrepreneurs. Over the past 6 months (yes... we are halfway through the year), I have been working with so many amazing women, helping them create branding imagery that matches their brand voice. Connecting with your ideal client is important. With advancing technology; cell phones, apps, and tablets, more and more people are doing things digitally. Instagram has been huge for my digital marketing. It's by far the only social media platform I use and the best way to share my own personality through imagery.
So lets get this party started guys. Here are my tips!
DEFINE YOUR BRAND PERSONALITY.....
Having clarity in knowing what your brand stands for is key! This will always be my go to tippy top tip. LOL! Being able to convey this can be challenging. However, clearly defining your why will easily help you communicate your vision. How does that work with photos you might ask? Okay here's my answer! Choose 3 meaningful, strong, cohesive words that will be your guide to defining your brand. Oh that's simple....well not really! I always suggest taking a few minutes in a quiet place to create a list of 20 words that describes your service, feel, and end goal. Then it's time to condense that list to 15, 10, 5, and then 3. Grab a snack or a glass of wine as this took me more then a few minutes. Once you have your words locked in, you can think of them during your brand shoot. This will help keep you focused on visually communicating your brand personality.
SHOW THE DEET'S AND BEHIND THE SCENES
Detail shots are some of my favorite images to capture. They can be used in so many different ways; via your social media on a day where your not sure what to post, in your blog posts, throughout your site to keep attention, and in your marketing materials. These images should match what your business may look like, how you do your work, and something interesting that you can share.
MAKE USE OF PROPS
Props are a great way to show personality and add an element of fun to your brand photos. Simple props like a (laptop, cell phone, flowers, or a tool that you may use in your work) are great. You can also show off personal items like a special piece of jewelry or statement charm. These little details can give insight into your personal values.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.....
One of the questions I ask all my clients is "what is the look and feel of your shoot?" Having a location that matches your brand is essential, so get creative and have fun. You can go chic, modern, simple, colorful, or urban. You can even use your home. It's all about what fits.
SHOW THAT BEAUTIFUL SMILE & SHOW WHO YOU ARE....
Yes! You must smile for the camera. Not all the time, but branding images with laughter are inviting. Your audience wants to laugh with you. So get ready to laugh and laugh hard. I suggest practicing laughing at yourself everyday. It's a good habit and helps boost your mood. With that it helps you show a softer side. The best thing about being a creative is that your brand is a personality in itself, and that means having humanistic traits. So be you, show your awkward side, dance, drink that wine, or share a hobby.
