So what is personal branding? In it's simplest form a personal branding shoot exists to create and develop imagery that helps you make a connection with your ideal client. As you are the face of your brand/business, the first connection is always you.

Think of it like this. You have a service and you know people need it, but will people invest based off of your product? Not likely. We as consumers are emotional and most of what we invest in is based off of an emotional decision.

Take me... I am obsessed with shoes. Do I need them no... but when investing in a new pair of Zara heels, I check in with my emotions. "Are these going to make me look my best? Will I feel good in them? Do I love them? " See these are all feeling questions. The same goes for your brand imagery.

When thinking about your brand; product, or service, your potential client is going to ask feeling questions. "Is this service/product going to work for me/make me feel better? Will it help me improve something in my life? Do I like/love this? I know your thinking what about the "do I need this,?" questions. That is not always relevant. No one needs more shoes, make up, or clothes then what they have. HA! Yes. I am speaking about me. However the fact is that we make personal connections with the brands we invest in. And that my loves is what we want. You want your potential clients, readers and investors to make a connection to what your offering and they do this by knowing more about you.

You see No one does what you do. There may be hundreds even thousands who share your industry, but no one can bring your individual experiences, beliefs, taste, or knowledge to the table.  Stand out from the crowd. Take what makes you and your brand different and make a statement.

My clients come to me knowing they need branding images to help them look their best and stand out. However, few know exactly what images they need. As a branding and lifestyle photographer, my responsibility is to help you with this. Not only do I know what looks good, but my knowledge and experience of showing women in the best light has helped me capture personalities, and show who you are. Like I mentioned. You are the first extension of you your brand. Your passion, likes, feelings, and desires are all wrapped into your vision. Those are the things you need to convey in your images.

With each client I always ask them about their brand and if they have branding words. Sometimes my ladies don't always know how to cohesively describe their brand. That is when I suggest a vision board activity (Pinterest is a great tool for this). I'll ask each girl to hit Pinterest and pin, pin, pin and pin again. Pin colors, textures, words, any image that resinates with you and your brand. Okay not something that just looks pretty and does not fit with your vision. All images have to fit. You can even do an old school vision board party with magazines, poster board, a friend and don't for get the wine. The point is that this will help you identify strong words that will act as a guiding tool when communicating your business.

So lets get to the images you need.

Your branded photos should elevate you, your brand, and capture YOUR PERSONALITY. Okay, so the day's of the basic headshot is so done. You need to think outside the box, add flare, and individuality.

Tip: Your images are not just about you, but what you want your ideal client to feel when they come across you brand.

1. Headshots- Don't get it twisted YOU NEED A HEADSHOTS, and even better if you have a handful to choose from. They are great for your website, social platforms, and just about anything that needs a photo. Headshots are the foundation of a professional imagery.  I always recommend having a variety of headshots, and laughter is my favorite.

2, Lifestyle portraits, or as I call them personality portraits- These are almost always my client favorites! You want to give your audience an inside to what it's like to be around you, get to see you laugh like them, and be relatable. These are perfect for your social media and marketing.
