New Winter Skincare Additions & Lavender Lemonade Water Recipe
Winter Beauty Product

Hey Love’s. So it’s been a few weeks since I dropped a gem on the blog. I took a bit of a break over the holidays to relax, refresh, and recover from another eventful year. Since the new year things have kicked off at swiftly, and I’ve been busy catching up with emails, mommy life, and curating content for you guys. Lots of whine as been involved. In between all of that, I’ve been focusing on fitting in more me time into my routine. I’ve been giving my skincare routine a much needed overhaul with it being winter. By the way it’s pretty safe to say that I am so over winter and the cold. All I can think about is the “cologne take me away,” slogan. From the freezing toes to the dry skin…. I’m just done. Bring on spring time.

So I’ll get right to it as you know I like to keep our chats short, sweet, and straight to the point so you can get back to life. Make sure to grab the lavender water recipe at the end of this post.

I’ve added a few new products to my routine to help out my skin this winter as this time of year is not the best for my skin right now. I thought it was worth to mention and try out for an added boost of radiance to your face. FYI you can total grab beauty samples at Sephora.

My routine includes lots of water, proper sleep and yummy healthy food (I’ll tell you what I eat in future post), but I mostly indulge in a lot of juicing. I’ve been loving Pure Raw Juice Bar here in Baltimore, and I’ve seen a difference in my skin since taking in more fruits and veggies that I don’t have time to prepare most days.

I’ve completely falling in love with deep hydration serum’s and creams. I’m loving Belif’s The True Cream Aqua Bomb. It’s perfect for all skin types and great at targeting dryness, pores, and uneven texture. Like, can you say amazing! My face feel’s like a babies butt after using this stuff. Another cream is Tatcha’s Water Cream. I was sold when I tried out their Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil, and then I picked up a sample of the water cream. It’s heaven in a jar. Perfect for all skin types as an anti-aging water based cream, with Japanese nutrients, powerful botanicals and Japanese Wild Rose.

As I’ve mentioned before now that I’m in my 30’s serums are vital. Caudale Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is mind-blowing. I use it right after washing my face to help lock in the next steps. Since I mentioned being 30 something…(33 and proud). Let’s talk eye’s. Being that I’m a photographer I spend a lot of time editing images on a computer. A lot of late night hours, eye rubbing, and tiered aging eye’s. Context and Shiseido eye creams are magic. Context is full of Vitamin C (the skin under your eyes are delicate and need attention too), and Shiseido fights wrinkles. I also throw in Dr. Brandt Needles No More Wrinkle Soothing Cream at night. For a quick boost of hydration during the day. Evian Mineral Water face mist is perfect for refreshing and toning throughout the day.

Lastly, I take a hair, skin, and nail vitamin by Nature’s Bounty to up the level of antioxidants and hyaluronic acid.

Well that’s it. My new additions for hydrated, glowing and soft skin for the winter. What skincare items do you have on rotation this winter? Tried any of these out? Let me know what you think.

As promised, I’ve got a bonus for you. Stay hydrated with this infused water recipe. I took health and wellness class a few years ago and learned that I had an interest in making flower/herb and fruit infused beauty/body products. Hand scrubs and soaps are my favorite (sharing a few recipes on that coming soon).

I love water and it’s important for your body. However, everyone doesn’t get the recommended daily amount. So here’s a simple infused water recipe to help you get more servings, detox your body, and feel fancy while you enjoy some me time. Plus, it tastes so good.

Lavender Lemonade Water

What you’ll need

For the Lavender Mixture

2 cups water

½ cup organic sugar (simple sugar is fine)

¼ cup raw honey

3-4 Tbsp dried lavender (you can find this in the spice section in your local market)

For the Lemonade

2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 5-10 lemons)

4 cups filtered water (for added fanciness, you can use sparkling mineral water)

1 lemon, sliced (for garnish)

How to make it.

1.     Start with the simple syrup, combine two cups of water and the sugar in a small saucepan over medium high heat, bring everything to a boil while whisking until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in the raw honey and lavender.

2.     Cover for 15-20 minutes, allowing mixture to steep. Strain lavender.

3.     While the mix is steeping. Juice your lemons. (2 cups)

4.     Grab a large fancy glass pitcher and cocktail glass (Home Goods has tons), combine your freshly squeezed lemon juice, lavender mixture and water.

5.     Chill for at least 2 hours and serve over ice.

6.     Enjoy your fancy water on a spa night or with your girlfriends. You’ll feel relaxed and calm.

Hope your having a great weekend loves and we’ll chat again soon.
